Former BlackRock employee Dave Antonelli has joined fixed-income investment management technology provider IMTC’s sales team as a strategic account executive.

Antonelli spent more than 20 years at BlackRock as an institutional fixed-income multi-sector portfolio manager and has experience with managing institutional and retail portfolios and taxable retail separately managed account models, according to a press release.

He also has a “strong record” of spearheading technological and process enhancements across various asset and client types, the release noted.

Former BlackRock employee Dave Antonelli has joined fixed-income investment management technology provider IMTC’s sales team.

Antonelli said he has always been drawn to solving the challenges of “delivering customized portfolios at scale” within fixed income, something he focused on at BlackRock, where he found that technology was “invaluable” to getting the best outcomes for his clients.

Antonelli was originally attracted to IMTC because of its cutting-edge technology built on the cloud, and its fixed-income focus, not having seen that speed or functionality anywhere else. Antonelli spoke with IMTC CEO Russell Feldman and the pair “hit it off” and shared a vision of how IMTC could help fixed-income managers.

“Scaling large amounts of portfolios on the portfolio management side of the fixed-income markets is a problem many managers are trying to solve — to streamline their existing business and as an avenue for growth,” he said.

With Antonelli’s hiring, IMTC can more efficiently scale fixed-income management and maximize alpha opportunities for the clients, the release said.

The company believes its clients will benefit from Antonelli’s “first-hand experience in navigating the ‘build versus buy’ debate and his deep understanding of the complexities and resources required to develop technology solutions in-house,” the release noted.

“Dave’s extensive background in portfolio management and technological innovation will elevate our capabilities at IMTC,” said Feldman in a statement. “We are confident that his expertise will play a crucial role in driving our strategic initiatives forward and reinforcing our position as a leader in the fixed-income industry.”
